It feels brilliant to have reached a century of winners for the season on the eve of the New Year.

To have done so in this most challenging of times is really special when you think that because of the pandemic the current campaign didn’t start until June, more than two months later than usual.
Once the season did eventually get under way I can’t say a ton by January 1st was in my thoughts but the horses have been in great form since early October and a treble at Newbury on Tuesday took our tally to 99.

When we drew a blank on Wednesday it looked like we were leaving things a little bit late but I was full of hope that Shearer, a lovely prospect, would get us over the line at Warwick in the bumper in the final jumps race of 2020.
Happily he was well up to the task and won nicely in the end. To achieve such a swift century is down to a great effort by everyone involved with Team Ditcheat and now we will be pushing on, looking for more success starting on New Year’s Day at Exeter and Musselburgh.
