I could not be happier with the the form and health of the horses on the eve of Cheltenham.
They remain in great order at home and schooling sessions in midweek ahead of the Festival could hardly have gone better. But I would be more confident about our chances over the four days if our runners were likely to be racing in less testing conditions. Most of ours definitely prefer better ground.
It’s been that way for most of the winter but there is no point complaining about all the rain because there is nothing anyone can do about it.
The two horses I sent to Sandown on Saturday both performed with credit.
Posh Trish did well to finish third under a penalty in the Listed Mares’ bumper and The Last But One was bang there with every chance when coming down at the second last.
Now the focus is firmly on Cheltenham.
